Beauty Therapy

Never underestimate the power of a good beauty therapist! The amazing feeling you can give each and every client with a treatment is invaluable.  But you’re not just restricted to the beauty couch or nail bar. You could step out of the salon and pursue a career in beauty consultancy, beauty buying or sales. Every year Coleg Gwent graduates go on to work on cruise liners providing the opportunity to travel whilst working in this rewarding industry.

Complementary Therapies

A growing and innovative sector, holistic health and wellbeing careers are incredibly rewarding. Demand has increased for skilled, qualified therapists in a range of therapies – from aromatherapy to reflexology to massage.  You’ll gain practical skills and techniques, supported by the underpinning theory.

Theatrical and Media Make Up

As a make-up artist you would apply make-up and style hair for anyone appearing in front of a camera or a live audience. You may work in film, television, theatre, concerts, photographic sessions or fashion shows.  From a natural look for TV, to using wigs and hairpieces for period dramas or using prosthetics for horror productions – the life of a makeup artist is never dull.  You could work alone, as an assistant to a senior colleague, or as part of a larger hair and make-up design team. But really, the only limit is your imagination!

30 courses available

The college has got everything we need to learn hairdressing. The salons are a good size and everything about the course is really practical. The tutors are great at making sure everything is there for us when we need it, and they support us with everything. After college, I eventually want to own my own salon.
