Have you been inspired by the latest trend in home sewing but not sure where to start? This is the perfect sewing course for beginners or learners with some knowledge of basic of garment construction to further develop their skills.
Learn how to make your own clothes; how to read a commercial pattern, choose the right fabric and perfect those construction techniques.

Course content
During the course, we'll cover many aspects of preparation, the commercial pattern, garment construction and necessary tools and equipment.
Some of the areas we will encounter are:
- Knowing your sewing machine
- How to use the ‘right’ fabrics and layout in preparation to cut
- Mastering the techniques – think zips, collars, sleeves, pockets & many more
- How to complete ‘that’ project & make it fit!
We can cover any skills needed to complete a garment. The list is endless, but step-by-step we'll construct your garment and adjust it to fit as necessary!
The course is structured around a complete sewing project whilst learning the correct techniques to achieve a professional finish. In a friendly environment, you'll have feedback from the tutor and peers on a regular basis.

You'll need to purchase one commercial pattern for a simple garment and enough fabric to complete it. Correct choices can be discussed at the initial stage of the course.
The area is fully equipped with all the necessary tools and machines, although you may want to use your own shears etc.
After booking your course you have 14 days to change your mind and request a full refund. You can still request a refund after this date, but this will only be given if you meet the criteria from the college fee policy.
If your chosen course starts within 14 days of you booking your place, then the 14 day refund policy does not apply and any refund will be subject to the college fee policy.
All courses may be subject to change and cancelled if deemed not viable to run.
