Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, the qualification will be partly judged on observed assessments for two real learners on two occasions in a work environment and a real training environment against approved standards/criteria so learners must work in an environment/setting where that is possible.

In a nutshell

These qualifications are for people working in or looking to work in assessment and internal quality assurance. These qualifications are open to people carrying out assessments and quality assurance in most learning environments including FE, Adult Continuing Learning, Employers and Third Sector. They are designed for anyone assessing and carrying out quality assurance in all occupational sectors, accredited learning, non-accredited learning (e.g. where performance is being assessed but the learner is not undertaking a qualification). This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).

This course is for you if...

This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments.

What will I be doing?

Learners can expect to cover a range of theories, policies and procedures designed to ensure sound assessment principles. Units include:

• Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
• Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

• Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

Additional information

This qualification is delivered in the workplace, not on campus for individuals to attend. Delivery dates are agreed in advance with you and your employer.

Learners will undertake one theory unit which looks at their knowledge of the principles and practices of assessment and two practical units which covers how well they assess. This usually requires six meetings with your assessor and may take 3 to 6 months to complete (it is self-paced). A formal quote can be issued once we understand your training need but as a guide, we charge £1,225 per person.
