With staying at home being the ‘new normal’, many of us are looking for ways to exercise and keep fit at home to boost our physical and mental wellbeing. Trying to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle during the Coronavirus lockdown is really important, but finding motivation to work out at home can be tough, even if you may be used to hitting to the gym or joining an exercise class. But have developed an innovative way to make it a little easier for us, and our Personal Training alumni are leading the way, hosting on .
AOC Sport’s mission is to make every student active, so they’ve taken this philosophy online during the lockdown to help get you moving at home. Their weekly timetable ranges from yoga and low intensity exercise classes, to more energetic dance, circuits and boxing fitness. There’s a wide range of sessions to suit different abilities, time-frames and interests, and to get involved, you simply need to .
Among the four personal trainers, selected from across UK and Ireland to deliver these 30 minute exercise sessions, are two of our very own Coleg Gwent Personal Training alumni – Danielle Hall and Rick Raybould.
Danielle completed her Level 3 Personal Training at our Usk campus in 2019 and has just completed her Sports Massage and Exercise Referral with us this year too. She’ll be delivering an online yoga session, while Ricky, who completed his Personal Training qualification with us in 2017 and went on to complete Sports Massage at our Usk Campus in 2018, will be hosting a Home Bootcamp session. Both of our talented students made it to the finals of the competitions during their time at Coleg Gwent, with Danielle achieving a gold medal and Ricky ranking highly commended.
It’s hoped that this series of free health, wellbeing and fitness videos and live online sessions will help keep the nation’s students active during the lockdown, and we’re proud of how the further education sector has adapted to the current situation whilst still ensuring wellbeing remains a priority. Why don’t you give it a try!
