WorldSkills UK results are in - Coleg Gwent learners win gold yet again

It’s been another fantastic year ofWorldSkills UK competitionsand resultsfor Team Wales, with Coleg Gwent learners winning Gold, Silver, Bronze and Highly Commendedacross a range of skills competitions!

The finals of2021took place throughout November, with studentsand apprenticesfrom across the country competing in a range of skills-based disciplines from woodwork torestaurant service,and ICT to hairdressing.

Over 400 competitorsfrom across the UKbattledto be crowned ‘skills champion’in their specialist areas,withatotal of29 learners from Coleg Gwentreaching the finals.The learners demonstrated their skills and knowledge in competitionsup and down the country, with multiplefinalstaking placeat Coleg Gwent campusesin recent weeks.

The results were aired duringaliveon Friday 26thNovember inChannel4’s Packed Lunchprogrammewith Steph McGovern, and we’re proud to announce that our learners won a total of 13 medals, reaffirming Coleg Gwent’s position in the.
